Shoura Assembly Membership :
The Shoura Assembly has 264 members as defined in Article (1)of Law (120) of 1980 , (amended by Law 10 of 1995 )
Two thirds of the members are elected by secret ballot.Half the elected members must be workers and farmers. The president of the Rebuplic Shall appoint the remaining third of the Shoura Assembly members according to Article (196) of the constitution .
Such structure gave the opportunity to all the political,specialized and public forces to be genuinely represented in the Shoura Assembly which comprises a variety of highly qualified members of whom 53 have got their ph.D in law , economy , science , social sciences and applied sciences . Also , the Shoura Assembly comprises representatives of six political parties and prominent figures of the Press , Information and Culture besides 15 female memberswho take an active part in the work of the Shoura Assembly and its committees with their remarkable experiences in political , specialized and professional spheres .
In addition to the aforementioned , public representation is obviously reflected in the structure of the Shoura Assembly as , according to the constitution , one half at least of the elected members must be workers and farmers .
Thus, the Shoura Assembly is rich in its structure that comprises top-level specializations as well as political , party and public representation .
Electoral Constituencies of the Shoura Assembly :
Electoral constituencies of the Shoura Assembly are determined by Law . The Arab Republic of Egypt is divided in accordance to the law into 88 constituencies .

According to the Law , candidates to be elected or nominated to the Shoura Assembly should fulfil the following conditions :
