The Assembly Bureau is composed of the Speaker and two Deputies. Meetings are held at the invitation of the Speaker. Assembly Bureau supervises the activities of the Assembly and its committees in order to ensure they are pursued in an orderly manner.
The General committee is composed of the Speaker, the two Deputy speakers, the Chairmen of the Assembly committees, and a member representing each of the political parties participating in the Shoura Assembly end chosen by the party to which he belongs and five members chosen by the Assembly Bureau. The Speaker of the Shoura Assembly is the Chairman of the General committee.
Specific Standing Committees
The preparation of reports studying certain matters and considering Legislation is mainly the responsibility of nine specific standing committees in the Shoura Assembly. These are:
1-COMMITTEE ON CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS 2-COMMITTEE ON FINANCIAL AND ECONOMICAFFAIRS 3-COMMITTEE ON ARAB AND FORIGN AFFAIRS AND NATIONALSECURITY 4-COMMITTEE ON INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION AND ENERGY 5-COMMITTEE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF MANPOWER AND LOCAL ADMINISTRATION 6-COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION, SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND YOUTH 7-COMMITTEE ON HEALTH, POPULATION AND ENVIRONMENT 8-COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, IRRIGATION AND LAND RECLAMATION An AD HOC Committee is formed to study the statement delivered by the President of Republic before the Inaugural Session of the people's and the Shoura Assemblies. Also, Joint and AD HOC Committees may be formed to study the issues Of public nature that fall whiten the jurisdiction of more than one Committee as in the case of the National Project of Sinai Development and The Project of the sustainable development of Upper Egypt.
